How to Worship Lord Shiva / Mahadev?

 

Om Namaha Shivaya -|- Om Gam Ganapathaye Namha

Today is Shiva Ratri (Night of Shiva)  a celebration of Cosmic Energy which Humans can take advantage of this Cosmic Energy which can flow through Spinal Cord when it is up straight. That is the reason during this night if you are awake you will have this Cosmic Energy from the Cosmos can penetrate you through the Spinal Cord.

Shiva blesses all kinds of Beings, he does not discriminate anyone, he blesses humans, animals and all those that are discarded too. Hence he is surrounded by ghouls, spirits, ganas, fierce looking spirits, ghosts and he smears himself with cremated body Ash all over his body, even that is discarded and left on the cremation ground.

One time Mother Parvathi had a doubt and when they visited Varanasi she asked Lord Shive “Hey Lord Mahadev, How does one get hold of you completely in their hands, Is it by Oblations (pooja), Vidya or Knowledge or Meditation or Tapasya or by Yoga, Please tell me.”

Lord Shiva looked at Mother Parvathi and said “You have asked a brilliant question in an auspicious city (varanasi), this similar question was asked by your mother Myna to her Husband Himavanth (Himalaya). This same question was also asked by Brahma during “Shwetha Kalpa” he saw me in pure white form and he called my “Sadhyojatha” incarnation. Next in the “Raktha Kalpa” (Blood Red Kalpa) he saw my red looking form. In the Eeshanya Kalpa he saw my “Vishvaroopaakya” form. So when Brahma saw me in these different roopas or forms he asked me the same question you asked “How to win your favor?, how to meditate and which form should be meditated?”

Then Mahadev spoke “Hey who is born from the Lotus, I always surrender to those who pray at me with sincerity/admiration (sradha). I am always to be prayed in the form of Linga (which is the replica of Aatma) and always looked at and with these five forms I am worshipped by five Brahmans (the Enlightened ones). Hence hey Parvathi, I am to be worshipped in the form of Linga, with Sincerity. I am to be sincerely worshipped by enlightened brahmans, because admiration/sincerity leads to minute knowledge, meditation, fire oblation. Only with admiration/sincerity in what you do I appear in front of my devotees.

ಓಂ ನಮಃ ಶಿವಾಯ -|- ಓಂ ಗಂ ಗಣಪತಯೇ ನಮಃ

ಇಂದು ಶಿವರಾತ್ರಿ (ಶಿವನ ರಾತ್ರಿ) ಕಾಸ್ಮಿಕ್ ಶಕ್ತಿಯ ಆಚರಣೆಯಾಗಿದೆ, ಇದು ನೇರವಾಗಿ ಬೆನ್ನುಹುರಿಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಹರಿಯುವ ಈ ಕಾಸ್ಮಿಕ್ ಶಕ್ತಿಯ ಲಾಭವನ್ನು ಮಾನವರು ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದು. ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೇ ಈ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ಎಚ್ಚರವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಕಾಸ್ಮಾಸ್‌ನಿಂದ ಈ ಕಾಸ್ಮಿಕ್ ಶಕ್ತಿಯು ಬೆನ್ನುಹುರಿಯ ಮೂಲಕ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಭೇದಿಸಬಲ್ಲದು.

ಶಿವನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರೀತಿಯ ಜೀವಿಗಳನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಅವನು ಯಾರನ್ನೂ ತಾರತಮ್ಯ ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಅವನು ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು, ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ಸಹ ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಪಿಶಾಚಿಗಳು, ಆತ್ಮಗಳು, ಗಣಗಳು, ಘೋರವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣುವ ಶಕ್ತಿಗಳು, ಪ್ರೇತಗಳಿಂದ ಸುತ್ತುವರಿದಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ದೇಹದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಸುಟ್ಟ ದೇಹದ ಬೂದಿಯಿಂದ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಾನೇ ಲೇಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಅದನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಮಶಾನದ ಮೈದಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಡಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ಒಮ್ಮೆ ತಾಯಿ ಪಾರ್ವತಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸಂದೇಹವಿತ್ತು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರು ವಾರಣಾಸಿಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದಾಗ ಅವರು ಶಿವನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದರು “ಹೇ ಮಹಾದೇವ, ಒಬ್ಬನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಅವರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಗೆ ಹಿಡಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಅದು ನೈವೇದ್ಯ (ಪೂಜೆ), ವಿದ್ಯೆ ಅಥವಾ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಅಥವಾ ಧ್ಯಾನ ಅಥವಾ ತಪಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ಅಥವಾ ಯೋಗ, ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ಹೇಳಿ.

ಭಗವಾನ್ ಶಿವನು ತಾಯಿ ಪಾರ್ವತಿಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು “ನೀವು ಮಂಗಳಕರ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ (ವಾರಣಾಸಿ) ಅದ್ಭುತವಾದ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೀರಿ, ಇದೇ ರೀತಿಯ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಾಯಿ ಮೈನಾ ತನ್ನ ಪತಿ ಹಿಮವಂತನಿಗೆ (ಹಿಮಾಲಯ) ಕೇಳಿದಳು. ಇದೇ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯನ್ನು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನು "ಶ್ವೇತ ಕಲ್ಪ" ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಳಿದನು, ಅವನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಶುದ್ಧ ಬಿಳಿ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಿದನು ಮತ್ತು ಅವನು ನನ್ನ "ಸಧ್ಯೋಜಾತ" ಅವತಾರ ಎಂದು ಕರೆದನು. ಮುಂದೆ "ರಕ್ತ ಕಲ್ಪ" (ರಕ್ತ ಕೆಂಪು ಕಲ್ಪ) ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ನನ್ನ ಕೆಂಪು ರೂಪವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದನು. ಈಶಾನ್ಯ ಕಲ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ನನ್ನ "ವಿಶ್ವರೂಪಾಕ್ಯ" ರೂಪವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದರು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಈ ವಿವಿಧ ರೂಪಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ರೂಪಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಅವನು ನನಗೆ ಅದೇ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು "ನಿಮ್ಮ ಒಲವನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಪಡೆಯುವುದು?, ಹೇಗೆ ಧ್ಯಾನ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಯಾವ ರೂಪವನ್ನು ಧ್ಯಾನಿಸಬೇಕು?"

ಆಗ ಮಹಾದೇವನು ಹೇಳಿದನು “ಹೇ ಕಮಲದಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನೇ, ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕತೆಯಿಂದ/ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆಯಿಂದ ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುವವರಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಶರಣಾಗುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನಾನು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಲಿಂಗದ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತೇನೆ (ಇದು ಆತ್ಮದ ಪ್ರತಿರೂಪವಾಗಿದೆ) ಮತ್ತು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ನೋಡುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತೇನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಈ ಐದು ರೂಪಗಳಿಂದ ನಾನು ಐದು ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣರಿಂದ (ಪ್ರಬುದ್ಧರು) ಪೂಜಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಹೇ ಪಾರ್ವತಿ, ನಾನು ಲಿಂಗದ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕತೆಯಿಂದ ಪೂಜಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಪ್ರಬುದ್ಧ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕವಾಗಿ ಪೂಜಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅಭಿಮಾನ/ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕತೆಯು ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮ ಜ್ಞಾನ, ಧ್ಯಾನ, ಅಗ್ನಿ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ನೀವು ಏನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀರಿ ಎಂಬ ಅಭಿಮಾನದಿಂದ/ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕತೆಯಿಂದ ಮಾತ್ರ ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಭಕ್ತರ ಮುಂದೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
