I would like to pray first Lord Ganesha and I prostrate at his feet, for giving me intelligence and knowledge to share the knowledge. May the light of Jupiter be graceful on me and the whole mankind.

The Shukra ashtottara will reveal a lot about Venus and they relate a lot to Women. See the ashtottara namavali in the below link.

One should respect symbols and symbolism that represent Shukra/Venus. Anything that is beauty is offered by Venus. Venus represents the following, woman, beauty, arts (64 different art forms), vehicles, she is ruler of desire, (काम)/Kama, lot of us know Kamasutra (principles in sensual desires), well if Venus/shukra was not there where would we see beauty which satisfies one's inner soul.

If one needs to get their desire satisfied, one should Worship Shukra (the planet which bestows and fulfills one's desire). For overall satisfaction, help and fulfillment of what you desire worship Goddess Lakshmi.

People who have business and wants to have growth in business, one should worship Goddess Lakshmi.

Insulting or mistreating Woman folk is directly mistreating Goddess Lakshmi. That means first and foremost is the woman folk in our home itself. Insulting of woman/girl child/wife/sister is same as insulting Goddess Lakshmi.

Let's see some of what Shukra represents as per 108 names:
ॐ शुभ्रवाहाय नमः। - Om Shubhravahaya Namah।   The One with a beautiful vehicle
She represents vehicles of any form.
ॐ दीनार्तिहरकाय नमः।
Om Dinartiharakaya Namah।
The Remover of misery and pain

Wealth removes pain of poverty. One gets respect, lustre attracting more in your life. (Let's not discuss about attitude here, irrelevant).

This one is interesting on Shukra..
ॐ ज्येष्ठानक्षत्रसम्भूताय नमः।
Om Jyeshthanakshatrasambhutaya Namah।
The One connected with the Jyeshtha lunar mansion

Jyeshta nakshatra is ruled by Mercury as per Astrology, but Shukra namavali says he in connected to the Jyeshta nakshatra/constellation.

Venus also represents, spouse, beautiful eyes, rules desire, bestower of enjoyment, the one who is skilled in political science.
ॐ आधिव्याधिहराय नमः।
Om Adhivyadhiharaya Namah।
The Remover of misfortune and disease

Lakshmi rules Venus, Sri Maha Vishnu rules Mercury, hence the connection. (But why not Ashlesha and Revathi constellation), some research point.

Wealth cannot be bounded, and kept for oneself. Just to give a story behind if somebody thinks that they can keep the Lakshmi for themselves.

"Once upon a time a King prayed to Goddess Lakshmi to be her daughter, she granted the boon. And that king had her as daughter, he was so fond of her, and one day she grew up to be a beautiful woman of marriageable age. So invited all the well know kings and princes for the hand of her marriage (Swayamvara). But those who came became infatuated and became aggressive and started to fight among themselves and a huge battle started with the invited guest with that of the king. In the end all of them got killed. This upset her a lot and Goddess Lakshmi disappeared. She said she would be back when a person treats her as daughter and they should never feel she is owned by them, protective and should not be owned by others. Such a person/king  again happened to be Rajarishi Janaka and she became the daughter of King Janaka to become Janaki".

So the story concludes, that you need to treat her as daughter as a sister or that of a small girl who is there for you as a well wisher. If somebody think that she is all for themselves, then she destroys, she will become the reason for destruction. She is a liberated one, the one who has freedom. Confining her will not do good. Money has to flow, wealth needs to move freely.

I hope this blog will make you think...
